We have decided to expand the New England Job Board from a small Facebook group covering only Connecticut to a website serving all of New England for several reasons. First, the expansion helps us to stay secure from scammers and fake accounts. Second, and most importantly, it allows us to better fulfill our mission of providing job seekers with the necessary information about job openings to help them make informed decisions about their career. The New England Job Board requires recruiters to post detailed information about job openings, including the hiring company’s name, position title, starting compensation, the location of the job, and any benefits or perks offered. This puts more power in the hands of job seekers, helping them to decide if a particular job is the right fit for them. Expanding to a website also allows us to better serve a larger area, as a Facebook group may not be able to effectively cover such a large region while still remaining mostly free of scammers.
